A Hungarian Jewelry Artist and Painter

Starting something new is the hardest thing ever. Not only if it’s a blog, but also if it’s a new jewelry design, a painting or a new skill to learn.

The most common advice beginners get is to start simple, and I do it now by introducing myself 🙂

My name is Szilvia, I’m a jewelry artist and a painter. I live in Budapest, Hungary, in a 100-year-old house, which originally was an office building of Dreher, the famous beer company. (Isn’t that cool? 🙂 ) I share my home with my wonderful boyfriend Gabor, who is also an artist (he set up this awesome website for me), my dolls, books and my beautiful plant friends.

I decided to start this blog for several reasons:

  • To document my artist life.
I’m a big fan of bullet journaling, but I don’t have a diary, and sometimes I miss it a lot. It’s nice and sometimes very useful if you can look back to see how you spend your life, what are the things you are interested in or struggling with as an artist.
  • To write about topics I have silent conversations about in my head, like inspiration, time management, and so on.
It would be great to hear others’ opinions about these things as well.
  • To share the things I learn and experience.
I love reading and watching YouTube videos about other artists, and I hope I can share a few useful tips and thoughts with you. If there are any specific topics you’re interested in, please, feel free to share them with me in a comment!

I’ll post weekly on Saturdays starting on the 6th January, 2018. In my next post I’ll show you my studio, where I spend most of my life 🙂

And last but not least, a few photos of the place I live:
